Christopher Daniel Jackson passed away in Asheville, North Carolina on Sunday, March 20, 2016. He was 21 years old. Born in Key West, Florida on October 25, 1994, Christopher was known for his infectious smile, love of adventure, and wry sense of humor. Christopher lived in Key West, Tampa, and Jacksonville, Florida before settling into Panama City in 2000 with his parents Rob Jackson and Cheri Boyle.
While in Panama City, Christopher attended Bay Haven Charter Academy and Rutherford High School, where he was a participant in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. After graduating from Rutherford in 2013, Christopher attended the United States Naval Academy, Gulf Coast State College, and Asheville-Buncombe Community College.
Christopher was a natural athlete. In 2012, he won the Florida High School State Diving Championship and is the only Bay County athlete ever to win that award. Christopher also loved excitement. He enjoyed snowboarding, dirt bike riding, skateboarding, jumping off of waterfalls, climbing mountains, urban exploring, and anything else that would give him a good story. Additionally, Christopher had a passion for music. He was a talented guitar and piano player.
Christopher is survived by his parents, Rob Jackson and Cheri Boyle; his sister, Cayleigh Jackson; his grandparents, Louise Boyle, and Richard and Rosemary Jackson of Glen Allen, Virginia; his great grandmother, Theresa Jackson of Glen Allen, Virginia; his aunts, Dana Boyle of Snellville, Georgia, Tina Newsome, and Gina Davis; and his uncle, Scott Jackson of Glen Allen, Virginia.
A memorial service honoring Christopher’s life will be held at Lynn Haven United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. The family will greet visitors immediately prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A private internment will immediately follow the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bay Education Foundation, 1311 Balboa Ave, Panama City, FL 32401 in the name of Christopher Jackson.
